As this dress is required for use at cap I decided to make it a gathered bodice for more moveability. I also decided on straight sleeves as they are also more practical when working over a fire. I did allow myself some treats with lace and capped shoulders and cuffs.
The only change I made was to add fabric covered buttons to the front for more detail. The buttons were not ready at the time I took these photos. I also have to thank Sue for the lovely lace collar. Its perfect.
Finally the Australia Day parade in Adelaide on January 26, 2010. Walking into the sun without a parasol is not recommended. It was an honour to march with the South Australian Noarlunga Volunteer Rifles.
