My 18th-century stays and short gown are quite comfortable, and I've worn them around the house a lot, as well as using my Tudor smock as a night-gown in order to make it look less new (!). The only non-modern clothing I've worn in public is a 1930s Hooverette, though, which didn't bat any eyelids at all, that I could tell!Celandine Brandybuckhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06625163673906638360noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3641118987748531772.post-59616086118086757182014-09-06T11:34:38.114-07:002014-09-06T11:34:38.114-07:00how awesome that you can manage even household act...how awesome that you can manage even household activities in your period clothing. i LOVE walking around in public in mine.. i wish i could think of more occaisons to do so!! :) i cannot imagine why anyone would be appalled. seems rather silly doesnt it when they go thru all that effort to be in front of an 'audience' at an event. - we get some of the best conversations when we wear them in the public sector :) - have fun with the cooking thing.. have been looking at trying that myself :)My Patchwork Katthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04528841903924051457noreply@blogger.com
